Exhibiting in Russia - Project Alena

This has been a new experience for me as I was supporting the Project as well as promoting Tanzanian Art internationally. This would have not been possible if Dr. Lusine would have not approached me. I would like to thank Dr. Lusine sincerely for this participation. And I pray for her success.

Mission Impossible (Project Alena)

Project concept: by Dr. Lusine Breitscheidel

Mission Impossible (Project Alena): started in March 2011, as of 04^th october 2011, 141 artists (painters, photographers and sculptors) and their children from the five continents and 81 countries (from Russia to Japan) are interconnected on this stamp, holding photographs of my daughter Alena. Interim results of the project were presented in St.Petersburg, Russia, during international exhibition, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Diaghilev Art Foundation, curated by Prof. Tatiana Yurieva, the founder of the Diaghilev's Center of Arts and the director of the Contemporary Art Museum of the St.Petersburg State University. Funding and support of the Event has been kindly provided by the Perlov Design Center and the Committee of Culture of the Russian Federation. Dates of the Event: 14th - 23rd Sept. 2011, location: Design Gallery/ Bulthaup Center in St.Petersburg, Bolshaja Konjushennaja Str.2.
The Design Gallery is one of the best in a city, centrally located, with tremendous halls and brick walls where the works of well-known artists and designers are exposed. The Event was well-organized, has been published in russian press and shown on the news at TV (http://piter.tv/event/vistavka/). Next update of the project is planned to be presented in Portugal in May 2012, thanks to Paulo Duarte Filipe and peace and art society PAS of Portugal (more information will follow soon).

The ultimate objective of the Project Alena - the whole planet fitting the size of a small post stamp. One life - many people - US versus ME. People from countries not yet represented in the project results are encouraged to join the project. Remember what R. Kipling said "We be of one blood, ye and I".
